An airporter is a shuttle bus that transports airline passengers to and/or from a commercial airport from an appointed precise location. Passengers wait or are dropped-off at the location for the airporter to arrive and at appointed areas where shuttle pick-up and drop-off are allowed at commercial airports. There is a prearranged schedule for days and times of shuttle arrivals and departures at the airports, in question, and the locations for the shuttles. A fee is charged per person and per way. Tips are considered polite.
Some airporters are as big as city buses and as small as vans or small buses.
This essential service is provided to residents in areas where the closest commercial airport is faraway. Taking an airporter saves the passengers from having to pay for long or short-term parking at the airport, which is expensive.
Trivia: A San Francisco Bay Area airporter overturned on Highway 101 killing an Arizona woman. The driver turned out to be a relative of OJ Simpson.
