Case Closed Manga File 599 It has been recently revealed in the manga that Akemi actually had a relationship with the FBI agent Shuichi Akai while he was undercover as a Black Organization member. Anime Episode 13 and Episode 128 While Episode 13 (The Strange Person Murder Hunt Case)is pretty much a faithful adaptation of the manga, the portion involving the mastermind is where it diverges. Rather than being Gin and Vodka, the mastermind behind the murders is a character known as Okita (O'Brian in the dub). Aside from the fact that the black organization isn't involved, Masami survives the gunshot. Since Shiho Miyano's appearance is coming up in the anime, the writers had to remake Episode 13 for Episode 128 (The Black Corps One Billion Yen Robbery Case). This time including Akemi Miyano and Gin/Vodka. - Despite having the exact same name and appearance from episode 13, there is no continiuty between episodes 13 and 128 and Akemi is presented as a new character. Conan does recognize her at the beginning of the episode, but claims he met her under different circumstances when Ran asks him about it.
