The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP, Hindi for 'All-India Students' Council'), is a youth political group drawing its inspiration from the nationalistIndianRashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and now linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party. The ABVP was founded in 1948 and formally registered on July 9, 1949.
