Keihäänheiton huhtikuun lopulla jättänyt Parviainen ei lupaa vielä muuttoa Toijalaan.
Parviainen ilmoitti lopettavansa uransa keihäänheittäjänä huhtikuun lopulla, ja siitä asti vuoden 1999 MM-kultamitalisti ja kuusinkertainen SM-voittaja on pitänyt tulevaisuudensuunnitelmansa visusti salassa.
Vielä Parviainen ei lupaa muuttoa Toijalaan, mutta vihjaa keskiviikkona yrittäneensä tavata kaupunginjohtaja Pauli Ihamäkeä.
Varsinkin loukkaantumisten riivaamien viime vuosien aikana AkiParviainen on miettinyt ja varmistellut omaa ja perheensä tulevaisuutta myös aktiiviuran jälkeen.
Tunnetut urheilukirurgit Ilkka Tulikoura ja Aki Hintsa ovat nyt tutkineet keihäänheittäjän ja todenneet, että hän on pysyvästi kykenemätön harjoittamaan ammattiaan.
