Akkineni Nageswara Rao (born September 20, 1924 at Venkataraghavapuram, Dist. Krishna, Andhra Pradesh), also known as ANR, is a film actor from Gudivada Andhra Pradesh. He is one of the first fully commercial Telugu Cinema heroes. His films include a diverse range of genres which include mythological, folk tale, social, adventure and drama. His first movie was released in 1941, after 10yrs of the release of first telugu movie released in 1931. From then, till now, in terms of telugu movie industry, the tenure is called as ANR era. ANR era is 66 yrs old and still going strong. His discipline and Dedication towards his work has fetched him many awards and rewards. Unfortunately, some of his award certificates were stolen from an exhibition of his achievements in Hyderabad during late 20th century. However, they were recovered by Hyderabad Police 2 weeks after the theft. He acted with NTR who is one of the greatest actors of India in almost 40 years.They both called each other as brother .
