At 5'8 with 72" reach, Seeger is large for his division of 122 lbs. Seeger began boxing at age eleven under the guidance of Mike Jarrell Sr. and Jimmy Chumley of Jarrell's Gym Boxing in Savannah, GA. With his first amateur fight on March 22, 1991, Seeger fought several times in the 80lb weight division. As an amateur Seeger compiled a record of 26-6 capturing several junior olympic and open division titles, finishing his amateur career in the 125lb division.
