Early Years
Aladdin was born 18 years before the events of the film. Aladdin never received a formal education. He learned much from his time on the streets of Agrabah. In the series episode "the Lost Ones" we learned that he had a childhood streetrat friend named Hamahl. In the episode "Seems like old crimes" we find out that when he was sixteen, he fell in with a group of circus performers where he met Abu. The performers used Aladdin to get past the traps of an ancient temple to reach the "destiny stone". There, the performers were all sucked in, leaving Abu and Aladdin. In "King of Theives" we learn Aladdin's father, Cassim, left the family shortly after his son's birth. Aladdin's mother died when he was very young.
Aladdin On the Run from the Palace Guards As he had since he was a small boy, eighteen-year old Aladdin ran from the Sultan's guards. The guards gave chase after the boy and his monkey friend, Abu, swiped a piece of bread. On this particular day, he used a hanging towel to glide to safety from his pursuers. Escaping the guards, the pair hid in a dark ally. As Abu prepared to devour the bread, Aladdin noticed two starving, street children. He gave up his piece to the girl. Abu reluctantly gave up his piece to her younger brother.
Love at First Sight Some time later, Aladdin meets a girl in the marketplace. It's love at first sight - but their meeting is interrupted by guards sent by vizier Jafar to capture Aladdin. As the guards try to take the girl too, she reveals to be Princess Jasmine played by Linda Larkin. She demands the guards to release Aladdin at once, but they tell her that she has to deal with Jafar first in order to let him go. After the collapse, Aladdin, Abu and the carpet are in an emptiness. Abu delivers the lamp to Aladdin, and when he rubs it, a giant blue Genie appears, telling Aladdin he will fulfill three wishes. After leaving the collapsed cave with the Genie's help (but not constituting a wish, since he did it at free will after being "discredited" by Aladdin), he decides to become a prince in order to conquer Jasmine's heart. Personality Aladdin is a very confident and clever person and like most Disney male protagonists he is a selfless, brave and clever young man who seeks to win the affection of his princess. Though he can be a bit stubborn at times, he really does care about his friends, and will make sure to do whatever he can to protect them. In the TV series he is more prone to fighting than princess Jasmine but more prone to clever strategy than genie or the others. In the Kingdom Hearts manga he is characterised to have a bit of an inferiority complex, and prone to flattery. His "Prince" name, Ali Ababwa, may be a reference to Ali Baba. Physical Description Aladdin has wavy, sort of long hair. His eyes are brown but sometimes seen only black. Aladdin is semi-muscular. (Besides his prince outfit) Aladdin wears a purple vest, a red cup on his head, and what appear to be pants with a swaddling cloth like material. Aladdin has a brown patch in his pants but in Aladdin (TV series) he is seen without it. No nudity is ever shown in the movie or TV series but some viewers believe the lines below Aladdin's sash is the outline of his penis but no one is really sure. Also, in the TV series, Aladdin sometimes wears a yellow outlined vest, shoes, and the sash above his pants is stripped. In the TV series a character named Chaos makes an evil twin of Aladdin. He looks almost exactly the same but with more pale skin and his pants are red. Surprisingly, Aladdin has no belly button except in the TV series in the episode, "garden of evil," where he swings his sword at the plants and his belly button is visible for a short time. Aladdin is usually drawn with no finger nails, unless a close up is made on his hand(s). Most of the time, Aladdin has a toenail on his big toe, but the rest of his toenails are never seen. Aladdin goes under a few transformations in the TV series as well, such as the time Saleen turned him into a shark or Mirage's lotion turned him into a snake, as well as a few other times. However, he always manages to return to normal in the end. ...
