Controversial Early Return Policy

Alamo Rent A Car has been the subject of several news stories [2] concerning its early return policy when a consumer arranges for a special weekly rate. If a customer returns the rental vehicle before the expiration of the rental agreement, even by several hours, Alamo considers the original contract to be terminated and instead charges its default daily rate to the consumer's credit card. Depending on the terms of the special weekly rate, this may result in a doubling or tripling of the original contract amount.
