Alan Douglas is a journalist and broadcaster based in Glasgow. For many years he was the face of BBC Scotland's evening news programme Reporting Scotland while also presenting Scottish Television's BAFTA-winning style programme, The Home Show with his wife Viv Lumsden. He has worked on newspapers and radio in his 30+ year media career and is now a director of The Broadcasting Business Ltd, a media consultancy specialising in media awareness and presentation skills training and crisis management. The company has a huge range of UK and international clients and is involved in the handling of many major issues both in the UK and abroad. He still writes extensively about driving and cars as motoring correspondent of Scottish Field magazine and contributor to Saga Radio, ITV's official motoring website www.carkeys.co.uk and the BBC. He is a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and holds a car, bus, lorry and motorbike licence and is a former Regional Journalist of the Year of the Guild of Motoring Writers.
AlanDouglas had been the curator of much of Jimi's music from the time Jimi died in 1970 until last summer when he settled out of court.
AlanDouglas mauled the music, putting out albums of highly questionable taste for years and years, even giving himself partial credit as composer when he had nothing to do with the original songs.
AlanDouglas had two projects underway when the family won the rights back, I asked Janie about these plans and she said she wasn't sure if they would go through or not.
