Biography

Fletcher's first widely seen role was in police drama Cop Shop in the early 1980s. He followed this with an appearance in US series The Love Boat (1981) and various Australia feature films, TV movies, and miniseries. He briefly acted in Neighbours in the 1980s as a run-down, dishonest boxer working in Jim's garage, before taking the role of Karl Kennedy in 1994, which he continues to play to the present day. Cop Shop was an Australian police drama television series produced by Crawford Productions that revolved around the everyday operations of both the uniformed police officers and the plain-clothes detectives of the fictional Riverside Police Station. ... Musical career

Fletcher is in a band called Waiting Room with other members including Tommy Rando, Chris Hawker and drummer Jeff Consi. While Fletcher is the lead singer, the other members sing lead on a few songs. They toured the UK during May and June of 2005, and again in November 2005 and May 2006, with the most recent tour in November-December 2006. The band have now performed in Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. With a handful of their own songs they incorporate a selection of cover versions into their set, including Kaiser Chiefs' "I Predict A Riot", Killers' "Somebody Told Me" and Foo Fighters' "Best of You". Fletcher also covers Smokie's "Living Next Door to Alice", substituting Alice, for "Susan", his on-screen ex-wife (Jackie Woodburne).
