Alan James is the bandleader of Powerhouse,[1] a leading event entertainment group based in Naples, Florida. Originally born Alan Painter, Alan James is from London, England and has an extensive career in the music business. In the early seventies he spent several years traveling and entertaining US forces around the world. In 1975 Alan was hired to be the lead guitarist for international singing star Roy Orbison. He went on to become Roy’s musical director and personal manager for twelve years performing at most of the major venues around the globe. In 2000 Alan James was asked to guest host a regional television show in South West Florida called “West Coast Magazine”. He eventually became the host and the shows title was renamed “Night Life with Alan James”. With a growing audience of 350,000 the show proved very demanding and time consuming. With performing and running his entertainment company being his first love Alan chose to leave the show and move on. During this time Alan was still heading up Powerhouse one of Florida’s most successful and in-demand corporate/social show bands.
