Asmat Alania was born in 1952 in the little town Zugdidi of ancient Kolkhis, where the legendary Argonauts sought the Golden Fleece.
Later, in 1968 Lado Gudiashvili sent a letter to Rusudan Norakidze mother of Asmat Alania, who was known in Zugdidi as a well-educated woman with unusual poetic soul, that "the girl's heart was captured by the spirit of art.
