Alarmism is the production of needless warnings. Naturally, use of the word implies that one does not share the concerns of the person giving the warnings, and that the danger is overstated.
Some areas where warnings have been called alarmist include:
The threat of terrorism, nuclear or biochemical attack, etc.
The accusation of alarmism is not always correct; if one had said in 1933 that Hitler posed a threat to the entire world, one might have been accused of alarmism. The accusation is proven false if the warning comes true.
Alarmist gestated in April 2003, in the Portland basement of the house that
Alarmist is adults reclaiming the punk tradition from the shame of nostalgia and pioneering into a jungle of unscripted insanity, magic and surrealism.
The compelling Alarmist singer, who shares vocal duties with the more ebullient human cannonball that is James Squeaky, delivers like a not-bored Kim Gordon and the screamiest parts of Bjork; her stage presence is part-cavewoman, part banshee, and part Bjork (but maybe that's cause both perform barefoot).
The Alarmist works in several subplots and many enjoyable twists and turns that becomes a hilarious interpretation of the fear of crime that is evidenced by America's need to isolate themselves by fortifying their homes.
The Alarmist is a good movie that starts out as a funny fl comedy with many laughs, yet grows to be a bit too serious in the end.
I give The Alarmist a 3/5 as a reel rating and even if you are not a fan of fl comedies, I recommend that you see this one for the character, the funny dialogue and the acting of the three main leads.
