Alberta Student Vote 2004 was conducted by Student Vote Canada in conjunction with the Alberta general election, 2004. The vote was conducted in partenership with the Alberta Government, Elections Alberta and school districts all across Alberta. The vote was held on November 19th 2004, just two days before the real vote. Alberta riding map showing the winning parties and their vote percentage in each won riding. ... Elections Alberta is the non-partisan organization which oversees general elections and by-elections for the Alberta Legislature. ...


The purpose was to introduce voting and the electoral process to students of every level in public and private to those under the age of majority. Students voted for real candidates. Candidates were also encouraged to come to schools and campaign. The election included all the same rules as the official election with chief electoral officers polling stations, and voter registration.


This was the fourth Student Votes election, the first was Quebec Student Vote, 2003, then Ontario Student Vote, 2003 and then Federal Student Vote, 2004. Unfortunately, the election only took place in 80 of the 83 provincial electoral districts. The students also did not vote for candidates in the Alberta Senate nominee election, 2004 The 3rd Alberta Senate nominee election was held on November 22, 2004 in conjuction with the Alberta general election, 2004. ...

On November 19th 2004 a Student Vote was conducted at participating Alberta schools of all types, to parallel the 2004 Election results and to educate students about the electoral process.
The vote was conducted in 80 of the 83 ridings.
