Political career Her first social activities were in 1961 in the peace movement and nearly immediately afterwards she joined the pupils' organization of the youth section of the United Democratic Left (EDA). Participated in the school movement of the "15%", in the "114" struggle and in the students movement up to the 21st April 1967. Throughout this period, she was a member of the Bureau of the EDA youth section pupils' organization and then of the "Lambrakis" Democratic Youth Students’ organization Bureau. She has also been a leading cadre of the Athens Pupils’ organization, formed during the "15%" struggle.
