Character history

Aleksander, an Albanian immigrant, first appeared in Hollyoaks in 2007. Davey Thomas arranged for him to marry Jacqui McQueen so that he could stay in the United Kingdom. Despite Jacqui's reluctance he is determined to see it through for the sake of his family in Albania. He is currently living in the McQueen household. Jacqui McQueen is a fictional character on the soap opera Hollyoaks. ...


There is an attraction between Aleksander and his sister-in-law Carmel McQueen who have recently started an affair, with Jacqui's acquiescence. The affair is discovered by her brother John-Paul and their mother Myra. The fall-out from this discovery leads to the uncovering of the marriage arrangement, adding to Myra's fury and disgust, with Myra slapping Alek around the face. Although very skeptical, Myra has quietly agreed, after relising that you can't help who you fall for after a discussion with friend Leo Valentine. On the 22nd of May, when Tony came to dinner at the McQueens, he accidentily spilt gravy on Carmel's dress, which led to Alek realising that Carmel's breasts weren't real. Aleksander was furious, as the money she used could have gone to better uses and not selfish ones like Carmel's. Myra and Jacqui rushed to Carmel's defence, claiming that he had lied to them and had a secret fling with Carmel. Alek barged out of the house, leaving Carmel weeping.
