Aleksandr Tikhonov (born January 2, 1947). Is a former russian biathlete who represented the Soviet Union. He is one of the most winning biathletes of all time, with 9 world championship gold medals and 4 olympic gold medals. He misses a individual olympic gold medal in his cupboard, but was taking part to take relay gold medals in 1968, 1972, 1976 and 1980. In May 2002 he was choosed as vice president in the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
