Aleksei Yurievich Nemov (Russian: Алексей Юрьевич Немов; born May 28, 1976) is a gymnast from Barashevo, Russia. He is the winner of several Olympic medals, including two gold at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and two more gold at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Aleksei Yurievich Nemov (Russian: Алексей Юрьевич Немов; born May 28, 1976, Barashevo) is a famous gymnast from Russia.
Despite promising international success, 1995 was a difficult year for Aleksei, as he gained a reputation for being a Jekyll and Hyde performer - at times he was brilliant and supremely talented, while at others sloppy and unfocused.
Aleksei finally seemed to realize his vast potential at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, winning six medals (two gold, one silver, and three bronze).

Aleksei rests on his arms with stretched body, before setting up a very impressive series of close to the mat work, alternating between Thomas flairs, spindles, Thomas flairs and finally his trademark breakdance shoulder rolls, ending exactly in a straddled sit and striking a classic male gymnastics pose, facing the audience.
Aleksei left with a stunning number of 6 medals, and certainly won the praise and respect of everybody over his wonderful gymnastics and sportsmanship.
Aleksei was born in Mordovia district, he currently lives in Togliatti, with his wife Galina and newborn son Aleksei Alekseyevich.
