Alesd (Hungarian: Élesd) is the largest town in Bihor county (Romania) after Oradea. It is located in the east of the county, near the border with Cluj county. It also lies on the national road running from Oradea to Cluj_Napoca and further west. Alesd has a population of around 12,000.
