Alex appears in the series at the Bait Shop, when Seth needs tickets to The Walkmen show for Summer and Zach, in an attempt at friendship. Alex was kicked out of three high schools, and works at the Bait Shop as a bartender. Seth ends up working under Alex and the two briefly have a relationship. Seth later learns of her bisexuality and ends the relationship. She soon afterword dates Marissa. Marissa moves out shortly after delivering the news that Alex is her girlfriend, and moves in with her. Marissa falls back in love with Ryan Atwood, though, so she and Alex break up, leaving Alex devastated.
