Alex Odeh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (177 words)
Alex Odeh was an Arab-American leader who was killed in a October 11, 1985 bombing at his office in Santa Ana, California.
Born into a Palestinian Christian family in Jifna, the West Bank, Odeh immigrated to the US in 1972.
There have been many claims that the JDL was involved in his murder, and indeed Irv Rubin, who was later imprisoned for planning to bomb an American mosque, publicly stated that Odeh "got what he deserved" [1].
Personality (723 words)
Alex Odeh was West Coast regional director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC).
Alex Odeh's death means that the United States of America, traditionally a refuge for "huddled masses yearning to be free" is less of a refuge: For Arab Americans, for Jews, for us all.
Odeh's murder is only heightened by the fact that the organization he represented was created to fight discrimination.
