Alex began working in television back in 1996 at CHCH in Hamilton and then becoming an employee of A-Channel Calgary. A few years later she returned and began working at The New VR in Barrie followed by her joining Citytv in Toronto.

For a few years she was the co-anchor of Toronto's CityNews Tonight with Mark Dailey. Not only anchoring that 11:00 newscast, Alex also reported for CityNews at Six. As of July 2007, Alex started reporting for Toronto's Global News as a reporter for their News Hour newscasts, weeknights at 6:00pm. And she recently started anchoring weekends. Alex just won two RTNDA's including; the Dan McArthur Award for indepth investigative journalism and the Edward R.
