Alexander Deane (born 1979) (commonly known as Alex) qualified at City University as a barrister, and begun pupillage (training or apprenticeship) in October 2005. In his three gap years between university and beginning his career, he worked for the UK Conservative Party as a Chief of Staff, assisting former MP Tim Collins and David Cameron MP (who has subsequently been elected leader of the Conservative Party).
