Alexander Wright was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.




The medal

His Victoria Cross is displayed at the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment (Queens and Royal Hampshires) (Dover Castle, England).

Will Wright wrote that Alexander's work was influential in the origin of The Sims computer game, and in his current new work.
