Alexandre Manuel Vahia de Castro O’Neill de Bulhões (December 19, 1924 - August 21, 1986) was a Portuguese surrealist autodidact poet of Irish origin. At the age of 20, O'Neill finished the first grade in the Nautical School of Lisbon, but a license to be a ship pilot was refused to him due to his myopia. Two years later, after a dispute with his parents, he left home and went living with an uncle.
