Biography

Alexey Ignashov of Belarus is a heavyweight kickboxer. He has been given the nickname "The Red Scorpion" for his elegant and aggressive style. Famous for his knee strikes, which he delivers with power and accuracy, Ignashov is generally agreed to be one of the most talented and technically sound heavyweight kickboxers in the world. However with wonderful talent also has come frustrating inconsistency. The big prizes of the kickboxing world have eluded Ignashov his entire career, and for every amazing win, he has been met with a lackluster loss. Ignashov has often been accused by fans and critics alike of being a borderline alcoholic and his drinking-to-training ratio has come into question before. Ignashov was trained in a Muay Thai background with the Chinuk gym in Belarus, but has also branched out and trained in locales such as New Zealand and Japan.
