Goes to Hell is an album by Alice Cooper, released in 1976. It was the sequel to his previous album Welcome to My Nightmare. It is a continuation of the story of Steven and the nightmares plaguing him. This is Cooper's first attempt at Disco, which would later erupt with "Saturday Night Fever". With the success of "Only Women Bleed" from his first solo effort, Alice continued with the rock ballads on this album. "I Never Cry" was written about the matter of Alice's drinking situation, which would in one year send the performer into re-hab. As quoted by Cooper, "An alcoholic confession".

Having officially changed his name to Alice Cooper, Furnier embarked on a similarly theatrical solo career; the rest of the band released one unsuccessful album under the name Billion Dollar Babies, while Mike Bruce and Neal Smith both recorded solo albums that were never issued.
Its follow-up, 1976's Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, was another hit, going gold in the U.S. After Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, Cooper's career began to slip, partially due to changing trends and partially due to his alcoholism.
Cooper made a successful comeback in the late '80s, sparked by his appearances in horror films and a series of pop-metal bands that paid musical homage to his classic early records and concerts.

Cooper is also a film actor, golfing celebrity, restauranteur, and a popular radio DJ since 2004 with his US classic rock show "Nights With Alice Cooper".
Alice Cooper's first album Pretties For You was released in 1969 and, though it touched the US charts for one week at #193, was ultimately met with critical and commercial failure.
Alice was finally clean and sober by the time "DaDa" and "The Nightmare" home video (of his 1975 TV Special) were released in the fall of that year, however both releases performed under expectation.
