Alicia Villarreal (born Martha Alicia Villarreal Esparza on August 31, 1974, in Monterrey, Mexico) is a Mexican singer. In 2004 she won a Latin Grammy. Music critics pointed to her as one of the few possible "next Selena" when Selena Quintanilla passed away in 1995. She is divorced from ex-soccer player Arturo Carmona, with whom she had a daughter, Melanie Aidée, in 1999. She is currently married to Cruz Martinez of the Kumbia Kings fame.
