In March 2003, the magnificent Swiss yacht Alinghi carved her way through five races to victory in the America's cup, the sailing world's premier event, giving the cup a European home for the first time in 150 years.
The America's Cup yacht concept, Alinghi, is the brainchild of Ernesto Bertarelli, CEO of Serono International SA.
This benefits us all, because research results obtained in the Alinghi partnership also create a valuable "platform of knowledge" that can then be used to bring the benchmarked technology to a variety of other industries.
