The album does not include new songs but instead re-recordings of songs from Bruce's first two solo-albums with his new band line-up. The second CD is composed of live-recordings of most of these songs.
Though BLEED was recorded in-studio and BURNED ALIVE before a crowd at CBGB, both of these new Speedealer releases are, for all intents and purposes, live albums.
The bands previous studioalbum, SECOND SIGHT, was produced by a notable industry celeb (Metallicas Jason Newsted), recorded over a period of six and a half weeks in a slick Marin County studio, and released on the major Palm Pictures label.
Consequently, BURNED ALIVE serves as a terrific primer for those not familiar with the band or as an all-in-one greatest hits compilation for existing fans.
In addition the Studio serves as a "Nesting Ground" for survivors to develop their own art/healing oriented entrepreneurial projects and is currently sponsoring three survivor-run businesses in various stages of development: Lilly's Art and Framing, World Bead and Design and Iris Weaver- Herbal Gifts.
Ellen and Lilly founded the Studio and have been running the entire operations on a voluntary basis since it opened its doors in 1994.
They created the Studio as a safe, supportive environment to pursue their own personal healing work and their artistic professions, and as a safe place for other survivor artists and crafts people to sell their work.
