History

Allaire Village was formerly a bog iron company (The Howell Works) that reached its peak in the 1830's. When Mr. Allaire's company collapsed, almost all of his workers and their families left. In the early to middle-late 20th century, it has been called "The Deserted Village of Allaire", for only few, if any, people dwelled there. It had become a tourist attraction.

Over the years, most of Mr. Allaire's buildings have fallen apart, most of them having been made in the early 19th century. However, some of his buildings still stand, and have been restored and made stronger.
