Not that it bothered the delighted AllanRamsey, when he spoke to 4BR a day later: "This was a fantastic win for the band," he said.
Now AllanRamsey's name will be there for the history books to remember.
However, AllanRamsey has gained for himself a well deserved reputation as a top line band trainer as well as MD, and he has certainly toned down some of the excesses that have blighted the band over the years.
Ramsey was born March 24, 1873, in Bridgeport, Lawrence County, Illinois, son of George Winship and Amanda Jane (Ross) Ramsey.
George Winship Ramsey, Lewis A. Ramsey’s father, born September 12, 1837, in Lawrence County, Illinois, and died February 2, 1908, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was a farmer by occupation, and served as musician in the Union Army during Civil War days.
AllanRamsey, born in Chicago, Illinois, while the Ramseys were living there, in January, 1906; a student at U. C., who was named after his direct ancestor, the Scottish poet and artist.
