Allan Mieczysław Starski (born 1.01.1943 in Warsaw) is a Polish Academy Award winning production designer and set decorator. A son of Ludwik Starski- famous screenwriter and popular songd writer (such as "Zapomniana melodia" and "Piętro wyżej"). In 1969 he graduated architecture at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (pol. Akademia Sztuk Pięknych). His first work as production designer was a film by Ryszard Bera "Chłopcy" (Boys) in 1973. Starski was working with famous Polish Oscar and Palme D'Ore winning director Andrzej Wajda. They made many great projects, such as "Człowiek z marmuru" (Man of Marble, "Człowiek z żelaza" (Man of Iron), "Panny z wilka" (The Maids of Wilko), "Pan Tadeusz". Also he was working at theatres with Wajda, Aleksander Bardini, Artur Miller, Andrzej Łapicki. Ludwik Starski was a well-known Polish lyricist and screenwriter of the twentieth century. ... In 1993 he won shared with Ewa Braun an Academy Award for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration for [[Schindler's List]] by Steven Spielberg. He was working also with Agnieszka Holland (Europe, Europe and Washington Square) and Jerzy Stuhr (Historie miłosne-Love stories). In 2002 and 2005 Starski worked with Roman Polański. He made art decoration for The Pianist (won a Cesar Award) and Oliver Twist (2005). Now he's working in USA and making two movies- [[Young Hannibal: Behind the Mask]] by Peter Webber and Snow Princess by Mark Roemmich.
