Dr Allen Aylett is the recently retired chairman of the North Melbourne Football Club. He held this position in his first stint during the 1970's and in his second stint from 2001-2005. In between he had been the chairman of the then-VFL. Aylett still works for his Albert Square dental practice and emphasised this week that because "I am not of independent means" he tends to get up each day by 4am and arrive at work an hour later.
