The racial makeup of the city was 95.60% White, 0.73% African American, 0.36% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.21% from other races, and 1.27% from two or more races. 4.73% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. Allen Park is a city in Wayne County of the U.S. state of Michigan.
Allen Park is located ten miles southwest of Downtown Detroit, and adjoins Lincoln Park on the east, Taylor on the west and Melvindale on the north.
Allen Park is known as one of the "downriver communities", which means it is close to the Detroit River, and is the way the locals differentiate it from other communities like Dearborn, which is its neighbor.
