Allendale is a very small town located in Worth County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 54.


Geography

Allendale is located at 40°29'5" North, 94°17'24" West (40.484813, _94.290028)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.5 km˛ (0.6 mi˛). 1.5 km˛ (0.6 mi˛) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 54 people, 26 households, and 15 families residing in the town. The population density is 36.6/km˛ (95.1/mi˛). There are 35 housing units at an average density of 23.7/km˛ (61.6/mi˛). The racial makeup of the town is 100 percent white.


There are 26 households out of which 15.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% are married couples living together, 3.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 42.3% are non-families. 34.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 19.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.08 and the average family size is 2.73.


In the town the population is spread out with 16.7% under the age of 18, 3.7% from 18 to 24, 24.1% from 25 to 44, 31.5% from 45 to 64, and 24.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 51 years. For every 100 females, there are exactly 100 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.5 males.


The median income for a household in the town is $30,833, and the median income for a family is $35,625. Males have a median income of $21,964 versus $14,375 for females. The per capita income for the town is $19,502. 3.1% of the population — but no families — are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, none are under the age of 18 or of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
