History

The airline was established on 1 April 1996 and started operations on 21 June 1996. It is wholly owned by Indian (IC). The future of this airline remains undecided, because Indian the parent company is considering converting 5 Boeing 737-200 of Alliance air into freighters. So this may make Alliance air a dedicated freighter airline or a regional airline along with Air India Express. Both Indian and Air india are supposed to merge by early 2007.
