Alone in the Dark is a 2005 horror movie based on the popular video game of the same name. It is directed by Uwe Boll, and stars Christian Slater as supernatural detective Edward Carnby. The movie is a direct sequel to the last installment of the game series, but contains plot elements that directly contradict it, thus whether it's considered canonical is debatable. Movies this unthinkably bad, so purely inept on every level—writing, directing, acting, technically—arrive on a rarer basis than viewers might believe, and "Alone in the Dark" is prime prey for a "Mystery Science Theater 3000" roasting.
