Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mexico (October 4th, 1999) -- BASF Corporation today began construction of a new $20 million (US) paper colorants plant at its facility in Altamira, Tamaulipas.
The Governor of the State of Tamaulipas, Tomas Yarrington Ruvalcaba, placed the first foundation stone during a ceremony in which authorities from the state and municipal government, BASF executives and regional business leaders participated.
Until the plant in Altamira begins production in the last quarter of the Year 2000, colorants will continue to be produced at the plants in Rensselaer, Charlotte and Ludwigshafen, Germany.
