In the tokusatsu production Kamen Rider Ryuki, Alternatives are mimicries of the 13 Kamen Riders developed by Shiro Kanzaki. 2 Alternative suits were known to have been produced - a prototype called Alternative and a production model called Alternative Zero. The 2 suits were identical except for a few minor differences. Alternative Zero was decorated with silver stripes labelled "Trial Prototype-00" on both sides of the body. The notion of 13 Riders is apparently a homage to the original Kamen Rider manga published in 1971, which contains a chapter called The 13 Kamen Riders.
