Alva is a small town in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. It is situated at the bottom of the Ochil Hills and has two large parks (Johnstone and Cochrane Parks), with the local hall situated in it (Cochrane Hall). Next to the park is the Mill Trail Centre, which houses permanent exhibits on the old woollen mill industry which was once present in Clackmannanshire. The town is also home to Alva Academy, and the academy takes in pupils from several primary schools in the Hillfoots.

Alva lies at the foot of the Ochil Hills where the Alva Burn emerges from Alva Glen.
In Alva's case it happened early, and a settlement with a church was already established here by 1260 when control of the local estates was granted to Cambuskenneth Abbey near Stirling.
In the early years of the century silver was found in Alva Glen and a mine was opened by Sir John Erskine to exploit it, using miners from Leadhills.
