Encyclopedia > Amazing Heroes

Amazing Heroes was a magazine about the comic book medium that was published by Fantagraphics Books from 1981 to 1992.

Unlike its companion title, Comics Journal, Amazing Heroes took a somewhat lighter tone to its examination of comics from a hobbyist's point of view as opposed to an intellectual one.

The regular content included industry news, interviews, indepth histories of comic book characters and reviews.

There were regular special editions for previews of upcoming comics to be published and swimsuit editions in which various comic artists do individual pictures of characters, both established and original in bikinis and similar beach apparrel.
