Format

Unlike Bill Maher's Real Time With Bill Maher which features panel discussions on mostly political topics, Amazon Fishbowl follows a fairly traditional talk show format: following a short comedy monologue, guests appear alone with Maher, in three-to-four minute segments promoting their latest project and often touching on their creative process. Towards the end of the show there is a musical performance, with the first three installments featuring Rob Thomas, Dixie Chicks, and Dashboard Confessional, respectively. The show is viewed on the Amazon.com web site.
