To reach Ambikapur form delhi: via train: Kalinga utkal express , Hirakund express(sambalpur express), Chhatisgarh sampark kranti express(delhi to durg). one can get these trains from hazarat nizammuddin railway station,delhi, and to reach ambikapur one has to leave the train at anuppur railway station n then have one local train for ambikapur and it will take around 4 to 5 hours , or one can have bus from anuppur to ambikapur, or one can leave the train at bilaspur and raipur(capital of chhattisagrh) and from there can have bus route. from bilaspur it will take around 5 to 6 hours and from Raipur it will take around 8 to 10 hours. via flight: one can take flight from delhi for Raipur and from there can have bus for ambikapur. flights available for raipur are indian airlines and aliance airlines.


Educational Institutes: People over here are very much aware of education importance and are career oriented. City has got Post Gradutaion Colleges, Women College and several public schools. IT education institutes are also established here.


Recent Developments: Recently Ambikapur city got connected by rail line to Bilaspur city. It's of a great importance to the citizens. In near future it is expected that train will directly run from Ambikapur to Nagpur( Maharashtra). Recently Low Fare Airlines like Deccan Airways, Karma Airlines has shown the interest to establish the Air services in cities like Ambikapur, Bilaspur and Jagdalpur etc in collobration with Chhattishgarh State Govt.


Tourism Flashes:


Temple carvings and archaic ruins date the history of this place to the era before Christ (BC). According to the holy books Lord Rama had visited Surguja during his fourteen years of exile and a number of places here are named after him, his brother Laxmana and wife Sita, including Ramgarh, Sita-Bhengra cave and Laxmangarh. Most of the local population is made up of the Pando and Korwa tribes, who regard themselves as descendants of the Pandavas and Kauravas (the warring clans of the epic Mahabharata) respectively.
