Standards Setting Because there was no central national standard for practice like the FASB for accountants, and because actuaries sometimes self-depreactingly compare themselves tro accountants only more boring, the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA) has aspired to create a similar national set of generally acceoted standards. This is the task of the Standards of Practice but they unlike the SFAS from FASB are not binding. [4] |
