 | The East West Foundation of India is a charitable and educational foundation committed towards easing the suffering of the poor and disadvantaged in India. |
| The foundation was created in January of 2000, through the merger of the Gates Learning Foundation, which focused on expanding access to technology through public libraries, and the William H. Gates Foundation, which focused on improving global health. |
| The Foundations role is to promote co-ordination, consultation and co-operation among non-governmental organizations, to provide a contact point for the New Zealand Government and non-governmental organizations working in the area, and to provide a centre for valid and reliable information for organizations and individuals. |
