American Hunters and Shooters Association - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (508 words)
AHSA presents itself as a force of moderation in the gun control debate in the same vein as Americans for Gun Safety, although it's true intent and purpose are in question.
AHSA was created by the DCS, an internet advocacy group for the Democrat Leadership Council, who themselves have long been at the forefront of every anti-gun movement in the United States.
While AHSA claims to be for "responsible gun ownership", a cursory look at its agenda shows that it mirrors the positions of Handgun Control, Inc, (which itself is an anti-gun rights group), all the while claiming to be a group of "gun owners".
Hunters and Shooters - A Gun in the Home for Self-Protection? (742 words)
As a long time shooter, conservationist and gun safety advocate, I believe most law abiding Americans have a right to own a gun to protect themselves and their families, to hunt and to enjoy the shooting sports.
The American Hunting and Shooting Association emphasizes that keeping a firearm for home protection is not appropriate for all homes or all individuals.
AHSA however, recognizes that there is no simple “yes” or “no” answer to the question of owning a gun for home protection.
