The American School Parents Association (ASPA) sponsors athletic and other activities for the students in grades K1-6. At least twice a week, throughout most of the school year, sports activities such as basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer are available to the students. Additional activities include ballet and dance, scouting programs, chorus, drama, swimming, sailing, computer club, and an environmental club. ASD supports strong vocal, instrumental and drama programs. The school has one large and two small stages as well sound and lighting equipment. Social, service, athletic and academic-related clubs and activities are organized for the students in grades 6-12. An intramural program involving a variety of sports is available for middle school students. Students in grades 7-12 participate in EMAC sports such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, track & field, badminton, performing arts, forensics, and other activities sponsored by an organization consisting of other schools in the Middle East. The students travel to other countries in the area to participate in EMAC sports, or the Fine Arts Festival and are able to tour most cities and historical sites when traveling to tournaments and festivals. New Campus The school will soon be opening a new campus in the al-Barsha area of Dubai. The new campus is to be three times larger than the current size of the school and expected to accommodate many more students than the school currently can.
