The service compiles results from over 100 worldwide book auction houses into a database of bibliographic and priced records. The database includes over 1.35 million records and is constantly growing. Access to the database is on a subscription basis, but the site uses its compiling of auction lots to offer a free searchable database of upcoming auction lots, plus results from book auctions going back 60 days. It is the only service that searches numerous book auctions at once and posts all matches together. Also supplied is a calendar of upcoming antiquarian and rare book auctions and of past auctions going back 60 days.

The site also provides its MatchMaker service on a subscription basis. This enables individuals looking for specific books, or any book based on descriptive terms, to conduct automated daily searches on eBay, worldwide auctions, and major book listing sites. Matches of new listings are provided daily, so that buyers will not miss seeing a desired listing, which may expire within a few days of being posted.

The Americana Exchange also offers a free monthly news magazine of the book selling and collecting trades called AE Monthly. New articles are posted the first of each month.
