History Amity was founded in the late 1840's by a Salvadorian farmer by the name of Daniel Magana III. Along with a local tribe of Native Americans, Daniel Magana managed to fight off the local French tribes and regain control of the town of Amity. Near the end of the 1870's, Amity was taken over by a local business man by the name of Evan Fosmark by buying the town for $1.25 an acre, totaling $409. Under the reign of Fosmark, the town of Amity became very sucessful and later went on to become very well known in the area in the early 1880's. Seeing competition with another local town by the name of Whiteson, the town of Amity formed a small Armada and inprisioned every person that had lived within the compteting town of Whiteson.
